Marketing with Newsletters
If you’ve been reading through these blogs, I imagine you may be thinking, “Yikes! MORE content?” Yup. More content. Content is KING when it comes to promoting your brand online, and more is nearly always better. Here are some ideas for topics:
- New Arrivals - New and pre-owned bikes added to your shop
- Accessory Spotlight - Showcase riding gear that’s appropriate for the season - ventilated gloves or jackets in summer, heated liners in winter, etc.
- Welcome to the Team - Intros and photos of new team members
- Event Calendar - Promote upcoming shop rides, presentations, or other events coming over the next 1-3 months
- Customer Spotlight - Run a brief piece on one of your best customers. Get a quote from them if possible, talking about their experience with your shop.
- Question of the Month - A general question and answer about riding, buying, or servicing
- New Rider Tips - Write a short tip for new riders about choosing a bike or riding it
- Editor’s Blog - A blog on trends or a ride report
A monthly shop newsletter is easier to put together than you think because it recycles content you’ve already created: emails, blogs, social media posts, or new web copy. It can even be a recap of content for the past month. It doesn’t have to be more than 4 items at a time, but make sure to include photos, a ride map or other graphics to add some visual sizzle.
Most of all, try to imagine yourself as the customer when putting the newsletter together. What would they want to read? What kinds of content build loyalty? What’s the most frequently asked question in your shop? Write an answer to it in your newsletter.
If you’re adding something to your customers’ day when they read your newsletter, you’re on the right track.
